Hi, I’m Varun Sivakumar, a senior at Hebron High School and the founder of CyberSafeWorld, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting cybersecurity awareness and helping organizations stay secure in an increasingly digital world.
CyberSafeWorld began one late night when a friend’s Instagram account was hacked. Watching him lose years of photos and messages pushed me to spend hours reading recovery guides and security forums until we restored his account. That experience showed me how personal and emotional cybersecurity really is—it’s not just about protecting data, but preserving memories and peace of mind.
What started as a small blog soon grew into something bigger. I began developing tools to help small nonprofits manage their cybersecurity and finances more efficiently, including a budgeting software that made their operations more organized and secure. Those efforts helped CyberSafeWorld evolve from a single idea into a community resource supporting people and organizations around the world.
Today, CyberSafeWorld reaches thousands of users through resources that make cybersecurity approachable and practical for everyone. My goal is to make digital safety simple—something anyone can understand and apply to protect themselves and their communities.
